  Error: An error has occurred while connecting to the requested resource


The error in the web interface 5.4 console could of many reason. If the XenApp Server is not license properly and showing load 10000 then also you will get this error. If you are trying to access legacy farm application from web interface 5.4 console, you will get this error. 
In our case users are trying to access aplication from Xenapp Servers and servers are licensed properly. On investigation it has been found that server has been removed from the load balancing and not accepting any connections due to a Health Monitoring Test failure. You can verify the same using "qfarm /LBoff" or "qfarm /online" command from XenApp server.



To enable the load balancing of the servers reboot the server or run the command “enablelb” from the server. You an run this enable lb command from other XenApp server of the farm.





Error starting Outlook: "Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window."

Cause:
This problem can occur when file that maintains the Navigation Pane settings becomes corrupted. This file is called profilename.xml, where profilename is the name of your Outlook profile. This file is stored in the following folder:
  • Windows XP
    C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
  • Windows server2008r2, Windows 7
    C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook
A good indication this file is corrupted is when the file size is 0 KB.
Resolution:
To resolve this problem, use the following steps.
  1. On the Start menu click Run.
  2. In the Run dialog box, type the following command:

    Outlook.exe /resetnavpane

    Note: There is a space between "Outlook.exe" and "/resetnavpane"
  3. Click OK.

      An error occurred while making the requested connection when Launching Applications from a Legacy Citrix Farm through Web Interface 5.x

When administrators try to integrate legacy Citrix farm with XenApp6 or 6.5 farm in the same web interface and launch application they will get the below attached error.




Cause: Web Interface 5.x (5.2, 5.3, 5.4) by default, are not compatible with Citrix metaframe xp, Presentation server 3.0 & 4.0 Server for Windows or UNIX. An additional manual site configuration step is required.

Resolution:
·         On the Web Interface 5.x server, locate the WebInterface.conf file (\Inetpub\wwwroot\Citrix\XenApp\Conf) and open it with a text editor.
·         Locate the following entry around “RequireLaunchReference=On
·         Replace it with the following entry: “RequireLaunchReference=Off
·         Save the WebInterface.conf file and test.
·         Users should be able to launch applications from the Legacy Citrix farm successfully.


     Getting "Access is Denied" error while trying to login to Xenapp6 Server

The user cannot authenticate because the Kerberos token that is generated during authentication attempts has a fixed maximum size and it’s exceeded the maximum value. To get rid of this issue increase the Kerboros MaxToken Size in the XenApp6 Server.

To increase the Kerberos token value we have to modify Registry.

Here are the steps to do that:

 1.    Take the back-up of the registry setting before any modification

2.    Go to the registry path System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\Kerberos\Parameters

3.    If this key "MaxTokenSize " is not present, create the key

4.    Right-click Parameters, point to New, and then click DWORD (32-bit) Value.

5.    Name the registry entry "MaxTokenSize".

6.    Right-click "MaxTokenSize", and then click Modify.

7.    Under Base, click Decimal.

8.    Type 65535, and then click OK

  
You will now be able to login to your XenApp Applications.
While trying to configure EdgeSight for XenApp you are getting below Error

"The specified License Server is not the correct version. EdgeSight requires version Citrix License Server"




While configuring EdgeSight for XenApp turn off "Edgesight for Endpoints Support".
Edgesight for Endpoints Support: Off

Though the XepApp platinum edition license include EdgeSight license but it does not include endpoint licenses. Separate licenses are required for Endpoints to function.

EdgeSight for Endpoints is included in XenDesktop Platinum license.
